Man arrested after ‘threatening people with axe in Wetherspoon pub’

A man in his 50s was arrested in Okehampton, Devon, after allegedly threatening people with an axe at the White Hart Hotel, a Wetherspoon pub, around 6pm on Sunday. Devon and Cornwall Police responded to the scene, and although the suspect fled before their arrival, a police helicopter was deployed to search for him. He was apprehended around 8:50pm on suspicion of making threats to kill and possessing an offensive weapon, with no injuries reported from the incident, and investigations are ongoing.
