Man arrested on suspicion of sextorting Naperville teen – NBC Chicago

Cody Ratliff, a 39-year-old man from Texas, was arrested by Naperville Police in February 2023 for allegedly engaging in “sextortion” of a 16-year-old boy by pretending to be a teenage girl online. Ratliff coerced the teen into sending him nude photos and demanded electronic payments, threatening to release the photos to the teen’s family and friends. Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres warned parents about the dangers of sextortion and urged them to discuss online safety with their children, emphasizing the need to protect them from online predators.
