New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced that 1,000 $50 tickets for the upcoming World Cup will be available to local residents, addressing concerns over high ticket prices. The tickets, which will include free round-trip bus transportation to MetLife Stadium, will be distributed via a lottery starting May 25 and are non-transferable to prevent resale. This initiative is part of Mamdani’s efforts to ensure that working-class New Yorkers can attend the games.
