Malaysia will take 'necessary action' if its companies are involved in Nvidia fraud case: Trade minister

Malaysia is investigating Malaysian companies involved in a fraud case connected to the alleged transfer of Nvidia chips from Singapore to China, following charges filed against three men in Singapore. Singapore’s Law Minister Shanmugam suggested the chips were included in servers sent to Malaysia by Dell and Supermicro, with uncertainty about the servers’ current location. Malaysian authorities are working with data center companies like Microsoft and Google to determine the situation and discuss accountability with Singapore, amidst concerns about organized AI chip smuggling to China through countries including Malaysia.
