Costa Rica and Panama coordinate to move southbound migrants

Costa Rica and Panama are collaborating to facilitate the transit of southbound migrants through their countries, following the closure of the US border to asylum seekers. Migrants from Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador will be bused from Peñas Blancas to Panama’s Darien province, aiming to protect them from human traffickers. Some migrants have expressed concerns over the risks of boat transportation, as authorities work to regulate the southbound migration flow and address the challenges faced by detained migrants in both countries.
