Mahmoud Khalil requests transfer from Louisiana jail after judge blocks his release
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Attorneys for Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil have requested his immediate release on bail or a transfer to New Jersey to be closer to his family, as he has been detained since March on allegations that he poses a threat to U.S. foreign policy. Khalil, who contests claims that he misrepresented his work history on his green card application, has not been charged with a crime and is a target of the Trump administration’s crackdown on protestors against the Gaza war.
