Candidates who applied for overseas higher education scholarships under the SARTHI scheme of Maharashtra government are facing a delay in the selection list for over four months, causing them to change or postpone their plans. Despite the advertisement inviting applications in June 2024, with 200 candidates applying for the scholarship, the selection of 75 students was expected by September, but the list is still awaited. The delay, attributed to the Model Code of Conduct around Maharashtra Assembly elections, has left students struggling abroad and seeking deferrals from universities.
