A magnitude 5.6 earthquake has struck Myanmar, compounding the challenges faced by the impoverished nation still reeling from a previous earthquake that killed more than 3,600 people just two weeks prior. The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported that this quake occurred at a depth of 35km. This follows a magnitude 7.7 earthquake on March 28, which caused extensive damage, leaving many areas without power and communication, and worsening the turmoil caused by the ongoing civil war.
