Bank Holiday Traffic Chaos on M1

A multi-vehicle crash has closed a section of the M1 southbound in Bedfordshire, causing significant delays for drivers returning from bank holiday trips. The incident occurred between junctions J11A (Charlton) and J11 near Luton Airport, resulting in approximately 30 minutes of congestion stretching back seven miles. Emergency services are on-site, and diversion routes have been established, but severe delays are also reported on these routes, with an estimated 3 million journeys predicted across UK roads today.
