Four people died and five others were injured in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, during a chaotic scramble for food and cash gifts from wealthy businessman Sok Kong for Chinese Lunar New Year. The victims were crushed as the crowd surged forward when the gates to Sok Kong’s compound opened for the distribution. Despite efforts to save them, two women and two men aged between 37 and 71 could not be rescued, prompting authorities to clear the crowd and suspend the giveaway.
