In his World Grand Prix debut in Leicester, pre-tournament favourite Luke Littler was defeated 2-1 by Rob Cross, despite making six maximums. Littler struggled in the double-start format but managed to level the match at 1-1 before Cross clinched the victory with a bullseye in the fourth set. Cross secured his third tournament win, displaying impressive composure against the 17-year-old English prodigy.
