Star Wars: Starfighter
Director Shawn Levy shares that for his upcoming film Star Wars: Starfighter, Lucasfilm encouraged him to create something entirely new, avoiding any legacy characters or stories. This approach has allowed Levy, alongside screenwriter Jonathan Tropper, to develop original characters and fresh narratives, with Ryan Gosling starring as a protector in a story set five years post-The Rise of Skywalker. The film, featuring a diverse cast, is currently in production and is scheduled for release on May 28, 2027.
