Australia is set to implement a social media ban for individuals under 16 starting December 10, 2025, aimed at protecting Generation Alpha from what Communications Minister Anika Wells describes as online ‘purgatory’. The government believes this law will shield young users from addictive and predatory algorithms prevalent on social media platforms.
