LPGA commish Marcoux Samaan to step down

Mark Schlabach, a senior college football writer for ESPN and author of seven books on college football, reported on LPGA commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan’s decision to step down on Jan. 9. Samaan, who oversaw significant growth in the women’s professional golf tour’s popularity and prize funds during her tenure, will be succeeded by Liz Moore as interim commissioner. Under Samaan’s leadership, the LPGA experienced a 90% increase in prize funds and record TV audiences, solidifying its position as a global leader in women’s professional golf.
