Louvre shares photos of stolen crown, plans restoration

French Empress Eugenie’s stolen crown, recovered after a heist at the Louvre, was damaged but restorable, missing one eagle and some diamonds. A restoration process will be overseen by the Louvre’s director, with five individuals charged for involvement in the theft. The thieves used a stolen lift to access the crown, which was left behind during their escape. Despite the missing jewels, restoration efforts aim to preserve the historical artifact.
