The arrests include three women accused of aiding the escapees, who escaped by removing a toilet from a cell wall, while Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson emphasized the need for infrastructure improvements at the overcrowded facility, which is currently only 60% staffed. Attorney General Liz Murrill expressed confidence in recapturing the remaining fugitives and criticized those who assisted the escapees.
