‘Lot of movement’: 4.7 magnitude earthquake hits northern Alberta

A 4.7 magnitude earthquake was felt in areas including Grande Cache, Hinton, Jasper, Whitecourt, and Prince George, B.C. The quake occurred between Grande Prairie and Grande Cache, approximately 7.1 km deep according to Natural Resources Canada. No reports of damage were received, and seismic activity may be linked to hydraulic fracturing, but larger earthquakes are not expected.
