The Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee has unveiled plans for 10 official fan zones designed to enhance the experience of the FIFA World Cup, which will take place over 39 days starting in June 2026. These fan zones will feature a variety of community events, including watch parties and festivals, expanding the excitement beyond stadium venues. The festivities will kick off with the Official FIFA Fan Festival at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum from June 11–14. Key locations for the fan zones include the Original Farmers Market, Los Angeles Union Station, and Venice Beach, each hosting live broadcasts of matches, music, food, and interactive soccer activities. Most events will be free, though some may require tickets or offer enhanced experiences, with match broadcasts available via Fox and Telemundo. Public transportation is encouraged to facilitate access to the events throughout the city.

Why It Matters

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is expected to be a historic event, as it will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, marking the first time the tournament will feature 48 teams. Los Angeles is set to host eight matches, contributing to the tournament’s overall economic impact, which is projected to be in the billions of dollars. Fan zones are crucial in fostering community engagement and providing accessible viewing options, especially in a diverse city like Los Angeles. This initiative aligns with FIFA’s goal of making the World Cup more inclusive and accessible to a broader audience.
