Recent protests in Los Angeles against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions began after over 100 arrests of suspected undocumented migrants, including in public spaces like Home Depot and the fashion district. In response, President Trump deployed National Guard troops, marking a significant federal intervention as he cited threats to federal property and authority. The protests, largely peaceful but occasionally violent, reflect community outrage over the aggressive enforcement tactics, with local leaders advocating for an end to such raids, emphasizing Los Angeles as a city that supports immigrants.
