A 20-foot-tall nude statue known as “Golden Balls,” previously banned by Wigan Council due to complaints, has been reinstated at Bulldog Forge in Ince, Greater Manchester, following a community campaign. The statue, a gold Roman Gladiator once used to promote a Russell Crowe film, was taken down in October 2022, causing local backlash and petitions for its return. Store owner Grant Adamson decided to put it back up for the Christmas season, despite the council’s ongoing assessment of its status. Community members have expressed their delight at the statue’s return, calling it a landmark.
