List of what’s changing this New Year – NBC Chicago

In Illinois, 293 new laws will take effect on Jan. 1, 2025, impacting health insurance coverage, reproductive health, and medical procedures. Changes include requirements for insurance companies to cover various screenings, mental health services, and medical devices, as well as regulations on treatments for Alzheimer’s disease and mental health counseling for first responders. Additionally, new laws mandate the creation of lactation rooms in Department of Corrections facilities and allow pharmacists to administer certain injectables for mental health disorders.
