West Australians will soon be able to purchase drinks without a meal at pubs on Good Friday and Christmas Day due to new liquor licensing reforms by the State Government, effective next year. The reforms also allow expanded trading hours on public holidays like Anzac Day, enabling venues to operate from 10am to midnight, and include the elimination of extended trading permit renewals and the acceptance of digital IDs. Racing and Gaming Minister Paul Papalia emphasized the aim of modernizing liquor laws to support the hospitality industry, with backing from the Australian Hotels Association WA.
