Lille v Bologna: Ligue 1 side condemn attack as fans stabbed before Champions League game

Lille fans were attacked by around 80 people, believed to be Bologna supporters, armed with metal bars and belts outside a bar in the city’s university district before their Champions League match. Two fans were stabbed, with a total of three fans injured and treated in hospital. Lille condemned the “cowardly and intolerable attack” and offered their support to the victims, while warning fans to “exercise vigilance” in the future.
