Statement from attorney general’s office says forensics teams examines body and site of shooting.

Libyan prosecutors have initiated a formal investigation into the assassination of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the son of the late leader Muammar Gaddafi, who was shot dead in Zintan. Forensic teams are assessing the scene, and investigators aim to identify suspects and interview witnesses. Gaddafi’s political team reported that four masked men attacked his home, disabling security cameras during the assault. Once seen as his father’s heir, he was captured in 2011 and released in 2017 under an amnesty law.
