Libyan official says discussed energy, migration with new Syria leader

A senior official from Libya’s UN-recognised government met Syria’s new leader Ahmed al-Sharaa in Damascus to discuss diplomatic relations, energy, and migration, expressing support for the transitional phase and emphasizing the importance of coordination on security and military issues. They also discussed cooperation on energy, trade, raising diplomatic representation, and appointing a permanent ambassador. In a separate meeting, Sharaa met with Bahrain’s strategic security bureau chief to discuss regional security, Bahrain’s support for a transitional process in Syria, and the establishment of dialogue for stability and prosperity in the region.
