Kelly-Anne Burns Sentenced
Kelly-Anne Burns was sentenced to two years and nine months for conspiracy to injure and failure to answer bail, with Justice Michele Wilkinson-Smith acknowledging her involvement in a violent “vigilante” conspiracy while clarifying she was unaware of her daughter’s intent to commit murder. After disappearing for 18 months following a compassionate jail release to attend a funeral, Burns was found by police during an unrelated search, just as her daughter faced murder charges in 2023. The hearing concluded with Burns, now in a wheelchair and awaiting hip surgery, being ordered to remain in prison.
