LGBT Americans reach record number, more likely to be Dems, Gen Z: Gallup poll

The Gallup poll shows a record-high percentage of Americans, especially Generation Z, identifying as LGBT, with 23% of Gen Z and 9.3% overall. Differences were noted based on political ideology, gender, race, and location. Heritage Foundation expert Sarah Parshall Perry believes the trend may reverse under the Trump administration’s policies against gender treatments for minors, as the rate of LGBT identification has nearly tripled over a decade but could change in the future.
