A letter from Titanic survivor Col Archibald Gracie, dated April 10, 1912, sold for a record £300,000 at auction, significantly surpassing its estimated £60,000 value. The letter, which recounts Gracie’s experience aboard the ill-fated ship, is considered one of the most detailed accounts of the disaster, and it has never been offered for sale before. Auctioneers highlighted its rarity, noting that letters from high-profile survivors like Gracie are seldom available, making this an exceptional piece of maritime history.
