Lebanon Plans Four-Month Second Phase of Hezbollah Disarmament

Lebanon’s government announced that its military will need four months to complete the second phase of dismantling Hezbollah’s arsenals in the south, amid pressure from the US and Israel. Hezbollah has rejected calls to surrender weapons north of the Litani River, calling it a ‘grave sin’. Israeli attacks continue despite a ceasefire agreement in 2024, with Lebanon filing a complaint with the UN over violations.
