Animal rescuers evacuate a lion cub from war-torn Lebanon to South Africa

The vice president of Animals Lebanon, Maggie Shaarawi, calms the lion cub Sara in Beirut before she is transferred out of the country. Sara, rescued from a life as a TikTok video prop, is being taken to a wildlife refuge in South Africa, following a journey that included a boat trip to Cyprus and flights to Dubai and Cape Town. This is the fifth lion rescued and transported by Animals Lebanon since fighting broke out between Hezbollah and Israel.
