Lebanese PM Nawaf Salam announces ban on Hezbollah military activities

Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has declared all Hezbollah activities as ‘illegal’ following the group’s attacks on Israel from Lebanese territory. Salam announced a ban on Hezbollah’s military actions, restricting its role to politics, and called for security forces to prevent any further attacks. The Iran-linked group claimed their attacks were in retaliation for the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and in defense of Lebanon against Israeli aggressions.
