Three people have died and approximately 20 others are injured after the Gloria funicular railway in Lisbon derailed and crashed into a building around 6 PM on September 3, 2025. The incident, attributed to a loose cable, has left nine individuals in serious condition, with identities of the victims yet to be confirmed, prompting condolences from President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
