Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi has been fined $5,000 for boarding Florida Panthers centre Aleksander Barkov in the final seconds of Game 4 of their playoff series, which the Panthers won 2-0, tying the series at two games each. Domi received a major penalty for the hit, which led to a scuffle involving multiple players and misconduct penalties for three others, although Barkov was not injured. The fine, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, will support the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund, and while a suspension was considered, the league opted against it.
