Union members at Le Massif in Quebec’s Charlevoix region accepted a conciliator’s proposal, ending a three-week unlimited general strike, with 91% voting in favor. Union president Annick Simard expressed satisfaction with the agreement, which includes an inflation protection mechanism for wage increases. The ski area had closed for the season due to failed contract negotiations prior to the agreement. The union looks forward to reopening the mountain soon.
