A low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal is expected to bring heavy rainfall to north Tamil Nadu, marking the beginning of the Northeast monsoon. The Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai forecasts heavy rains starting on October 14, intensifying on October 15 and 16, with some areas possibly experiencing extremely heavy rainfall. The interaction between the low-pressure area and a depression over the Arabian Sea will lead to moisture-laden clouds and intense rainfall across the region.
