“Thousands Protest in ‘No Kings’ Rallies Across US Against Trump”
Anti-Trump protesters gathered in cities across the US for “No Kings” rallies, with more than 3,200 events planned in all 50 states. Organizers hoped for a record turnout of nine million people, following previous rallies that attracted millions. The rallies coincided with a drop in President Trump’s approval rating to 36%, and majorities of registered voters disapproving of his handling of various issues.
The flagship rally in Minnesota drew around 100,000 people, with Bruce Springsteen headlining the event. The singer performed a song dedicated to two individuals killed by federal agents during an immigration crackdown. White House and Republican officials criticized the rallies, but protesters in cities like Washington DC, New York, and San Diego marched with signs calling for regime change.
In addition to protests in US cities, demonstrations against the US-Israeli war in Iran were held in London, Paris, and Rome. The widespread rallies reflected growing opposition to President Trump and his policies. Protesters demonstrated against Israeli and US attacks on Iran, advocating for a “world free from wars.”
Why It Matters
The protests against Israeli and US attacks on Iran highlight the ongoing tensions in the Middle East and the global concern for peace and stability. The calls for a world free from wars reflect a growing sentiment against military interventions and conflicts that have far-reaching consequences on international relations. The demonstrations underscore the importance of diplomacy and dialogue in resolving conflicts and promoting peace in the region.
