Australian senate censures Indigenous colleague who yelled at King Charles

Australian senators have voted to censure Indigenous colleague Sen. Lidia Thorpe for yelling at King Charles III during a reception in Parliament House, with the motion passing 46-12. The censure reflects disapproval of Thorpe’s conduct during the British monarch’s visit, with Government leader Penny Wong stating that Thorpe’s outburst sought to “incite outrage and grievance.” Thorpe’s expletive-laden rant at Charles, where she declared “You are not our king. You are not sovereign,” led to her being escorted out by security guards.
