Files released by the US Department of Justice reveal that Jeffrey Epstein urged Mortimer Zuckerman to relinquish control of his financial affairs due to cognitive impairment concerns. Epstein, a late sex offender, advised Zuckerman to appoint guardians to manage his affairs for his own safety. Zuckerman, a media mogul, appeared to take Epstein’s advice seriously, but it is unclear if he followed through. The two men had a business relationship dating back over two decades and Epstein even proposed a $21m plan to assist Zuckerman with estate planning in 2013.
