The Kimberley region is preparing for a wet and windy weekend as a tropical cyclone forms off the coast of northern WA, with the potential for it to be named Errol. The Bureau of Meteorology has issued warnings for damaging gales and heavy rainfall, urging residents in specific areas to prepare for dangerous weather and ensure their emergency kits are complete. Wind gusts of up to 85km/h have already been recorded, with gales expected to develop in certain regions on Saturday evening and heavy rainfall persisting through Sunday.
