A new tropical storm, Kiko, has formed in the eastern Pacific Ocean over 1,000 miles from Mexico, with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph and expected to strengthen into a hurricane by Tuesday. Kiko marks the 11th named storm in the Eastern North Pacific this year, while only Tropical Storm Chantal has made landfall in the U.S., causing severe flooding in North Carolina.
