Newborn baby discovered in yard by member of the public

A newborn baby was discovered alive in the yard of a home in Keilor Downs, Victoria, on Thursday morning. A resident alerted authorities after finding the abandoned infant shortly before 8 a.m. The baby and a woman from a nearby address were both taken to the hospital for treatment. The Brimbank Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team is looking into the circumstances of the incident, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers.
