Kathryn Ruemmler, former White House counsel under Barack Obama, is resigning as general counsel of Goldman Sachs following the release of Justice Department files detailing her relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Ruemmler admitted to adoring Epstein in a 2015 email and facilitated a White House tour for filmmaker Woody Allen at his request. Her resignation, effective June 30, was confirmed by Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon, who praised her contributions. Ruemmler expressed regret about her association with Epstein in 2023.
