Karri Karrak Aboriginal Corporation defends costs to Surfing WA for sacred site row

Aboriginal Affairs Minister Don Punch did not address reports that the Karri Karrak Aboriginal Corporation sought restitution from Surfing WA over alleged heritage site misuse during the Margaret River Pro. Although no sites were used, the corporation reserved the right for a judicial review, while Surfing WA acknowledged a $9000 payment for a heritage assessment related to the event’s site usage.
