Kansas City is mourning the loss of 26-year-old Officer Hunter Simoncic, who was fatally struck by a driver fleeing law enforcement while deploying stop sticks. The suspect, 31-year-old Dennis Mitchell III, faces charges including capital murder, and both trucks involved in the incident were reported stolen; Simoncic’s funeral is scheduled for September 3.
