Popular Auckland eatery Broke Boy Taco in legal tussle with rival Mexican restaurant

Broke Boy Tacos, part-owned by UFC fighter Israel Adesanya, sent a cease-and-desist letter to rival Taco Amaiz, claiming it was mimicking their branding and marketing of birria tacos. Taco Amaiz’s chef, Alfredo Romero, found the claim disrespectful regarding traditional cuisine, while Broke Boy’s founder, Sean Yarbrough, later expressed regret for the legal tone and opted not to pursue action.
