Jury paves way for 2 Live Crew to retake control of records that changed hip-hop

The iconic hip-hop group 2 Live Crew is set to regain control of their early albums after a jury verdict in a yearslong copyright dispute with a record company. Surviving members and heirs of deceased members will now have legal rights to their discography, which they had lost in bankruptcy proceedings in the 1990s. The record company is currently appealing the decision.
