A Texas judge is reprimanding the Assemblies of God for noncompliance in a lawsuit alleging mishandling of sex abuse cases involving former missionary Daniel Savala, who had been praised by church leaders despite his criminal history. Judge Reeder ordered the denomination to produce documents related to the abuse allegations and threatened sanctions if they continued to resist, amid calls for an independent review of their handling of such cases.
