Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa visited Jordan, meeting with King Abdullah II to discuss cooperation in trade, energy, and water. The visit followed Israeli airstrikes in Syria and Netanyahu’s call for demilitarization of south Syria. The two leaders also discussed bolstering border security to combat arms and drug smuggling, amidst ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and support for the Syrian people.
