JLS, originally known as Unique Famous Outrageous (UFO), was a band formed by Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, JB Gill, and Oritsé Williams who gained fame on The X Factor in 2008. The acronym ‘JLS’ stood for “Jack the Lad Swing,” reflecting their music style. The band split in 2013 but reunited for performances in 2021 and 2023, with JB currently appearing on Strictly Come Dancing.
