In the 97th Oscars nominations announcement, “Wicked” was nominated for best picture, sparking excitement as it is a movie widely seen by the public. Matt Damon was notably absent from the list of nominees once again, a fact that Jimmy Kimmel humorously commented on. Several first-time acting nominees were recognized, including Demi Moore, Kieran Culkin, Ariana Grande, Zoe Saldana, and Sebastian Stan, the latter of whom was nominated for best actor for his portrayal of Donald Trump in the movie “The Apprentice.”
